CAUSING ANY UNDUE STRESS TO THE DIRECTOR OR ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED, INCLUDING SPREADING SLANDER REGARDING FELLOW CAST AND CREW MEMBERS, WILL RESULT IN ONE WARNING, FOLLOWED BY EJECTION FROM THE PRODUCTION. c. REFUSAL OF A ROLE OR POSITION WILL RESULT IN NON-CONSIDERATION FOR ANY UPCOMING PRODUCTIONS OR LYMAN THEA TRE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING INDUCTION INTO THESPIAN TROUPE 2329. QUITTING A PRODUCTION RESULTS IN QUITTING THE THEATRE COMPANY FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR TENURE AT LYMAN HIGH SCHOOL. 6. DEADLINES MUST BE ESTABLISHED AND MET- YOU WILL BE GIVEN SPECIFIC DEADLINES EITHER BY GERDEMAN OR YOUR DEPARTMENT HEAD. a. Lines/lyrics/blocking/choreography memorized according to deadline. b. Crews must utilize their time to complete their projects. 7. SOCIAL DISRUPTIONS AND INAPPROPRIATE DRESS FOR REHEARSAL WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. a. PHONES ARE NOT TO BE USED DURING REHEARSALS UNLESS YOU ARE NOT NEEDED. THEY MAY NEVER BE BACKSTAGE WITH AN ACTOR, AND ARE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED FOR TECHIES (TO PREVENT DAMAGE). b. THERE MAY BE NO GUM CHEWING IN AND AROUND THE AUDITORIUM FACILITY c. CLOSED TOED SHOES ARE REQUIRED BY ALL ATTENDEES- NO FLIP FLOPS 8. TREAT STUDENTS WHO ARE IN POSITIONS OF AUTHORITY WITH RESPECT, WORK AS A TEAM, AND UNDERSTAND THAT STUDENT LEADERS ARE UNDER A GREAT DEAL OF PRESSURE. DO YOUR BEST TO HELP THEM COMPLETE THEIR JOBS. 9. TREAT THE STAGE AND THE SCHOOL WITH RESPECT AND TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ITS CARE. THERE IS NO EATING IN THE AUDITORIUM. 10. PARTICIPATION IN THIS PRODUCTION IS PURELY VOLUNTARY AND INDICATES YOUR ABILITY TO BUDGET YOUR TIME WISELY, AND NOT ALLOW THE HOURS INVOLVED TO AFFECT GRADES OR SCHOOLWORK. CITING THE THEATRE PROGRAM FOR YOUR ACADEMIC FAILURES IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL RESULT IN YOUR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PRODUCTION AND FROM ALL FUTURE PRODUCTIONS AS WELL. AS ACKNOWLEDGED ON YOUR APPLICATION, GRADES WILL AFFECT CONTINUED PARTICIPATION, ESPECIALLY IF TEACHERS OR PARENTS MAKE CONTACT WITH MS. GERDEMAN.
PARENT CONSENT: I, the parent/guardian of the mentioned student, understand the time commitment related to my child’s involvement with this Lymlight Production. I trust in Ms. Gerdeman as a Theatre Professional. I understand that my child may be removed from the Theatre Company if un-sportsman-like behavior occurs by my child or by any member of our family regarding casting decisions. I will accept all casting decisions, including crew positions, and will encourage my child to be grateful for any outcome on the “Cast & Crew” list. I hereby give full permission for my child to participate in the production however Ms. Gerdeman deems fit, and will assist my child in securing sponsorship ads for the show to the best of my ability. I understand that our family is responsible for securing the ad money, or the arrangement of an approved barter, regardless of our ability to sell the ad. I also understand that if the funds are not turned in, my child will be placed on the school’s obligations list (for collections), which may limit participation in important school functions in the future.

Crew Role
BUILD CREW Requires some construction ability or an eagerness to learn set construction skills. Reports to MASTER SHOP CARPENTER.
SCENIC ARTISTS Will paint just about every day. Must be prepared with appropriate clothing. Must be ready to work and willing to learn. Reports to HEAD SCENIC CHARGE.
PROPS CREW Will find, buy, borrow or make all necessary and appropriate stage properties for our production. Must be creative, flexible and eager to learn. Reports to PROPS MASTER.
COSTUME CREW Will find, make and manipulate all clothing to be worn by the actors in the show. Must possess basic sewing skills. Creativity and a willingness to learn is a must. Reports to the WARDROBE MASTER/MISTRESS.
MILLINER CREW Will find, make and manipulate all HATS and HEADWEAR to be worn by the actors in the show. Must possess basic sewing skills, creativity and a willingness to learn is a must. Reports to the MILLINER.
MAKEUP CREW Will design and apply—or teach the actors to apply—all makeup for the production. Will be sure to work with the director to secure proper materials, will research looks, etc. Reports to the MAKEUP DESIGNER.
HAIR & WIGS CREW Will design and fix—or teach the actors to apply—all hair styles/wigs for the production. Will be sure to work with the director to secure proper materials, will research looks, etc. Reports to the HAIR/WIGS DESIGNER.
MARKETING CREW In charge of making sure everyone knows about our production and wants to attend. This includes the students, faculty and staff of Lyman High School as well as members of the Central Florida community. Marketing crew will create posters, programs, tickets and t-shirts under the leadership of the MARKETING DIRECTOR. Crew members must be creative, organized, have transportation, and possess moderate to advanced computer/computer graphics skills, as well as knowledge of social media and video production.
ELECTRICS CREW Deck Electrician- Deck electricians serve as the crew for the Master Electrician, and will assist in facilitating the proper installment of any and all sound or lighting needs. This individual might handle items requiring attention on the stage during a production. Duties may include plugging in various items as scenery units move, replacing mic pack batteries, seeing that lines do not tangle during performance, re-patching lighting units during a show, and changing colors on lights during a performance. Also may run fog machines/hazers and anything else the SD or LD requires.
Production Team ALL MEMBERS OF THE PRODUCTION TEAM MUST ATTEND PRE-PRODUCTION.
Assistant Director (EXECUTIVE)- will assist the Director in any way necessary. May take and give acting notes, make creative suggestions that uphold the Director’s vision, work scenes with actors, etc. Must attend all production meetings and every rehearsal. MUST ATTEND AUDITIONS!
Technical Director (EXECUTIVE)- will be in charge of all Technical aspects of the production. May design the set and will work closely with all other crew heads to meet the Director’s vision. Must meet with all other Tech. Coordinators to be sure the Director’s creative vision is carried through according to plan. Must run all production meetings and attend every scheduled and appropriate crew days.
Stage Manager (EXECUTIVE)- is in charge of recording all blocking and sound cues. Will remain “on book” for actors throughout production. Will keep a well organized prompt book including rehearsal reports attendance notes and will create and keep a cast and crew contact sheet. Is in charge of everything that occurs on the stage, including safety, making sure the set is constructed on the stage in an organized and efficient manner. Is in charge of all stage properties, hand properties, etc.. Is in charge of the production from dress rehearsal through close. Is in charge of run crew. Is in charge of giving actors their calls, and is in charge of calling all stage cues. Must attend all production meetings and every rehearsal. MUST ATTEND AUDITIONS!
Business Manager(EXECUTIVE)- is in charge of all finances involved with the show. Must be good with money (or math), and able and willing to follow the rules of how to handle money in public schools. Will help maintain the budget set by the producing director, and will process finances and forms dealing with Marketing as well as purchase orders for all crews. Will work closely with the Marketing Crew, but will focus specifically on the intake and output of finances dealing directly with the show’s budget. *I will teach you how to do this. =)
Choreographer/Assistant Choreographer (EXECUTIVE)- is in charge of choreographing all musical numbers requiring the support of dance! Will serve as a direct counter-part to the director, staging and choreographing (in some cases) alongside the director. Will be responsible for having numbers prepared according to the rehearsal schedule, and will teach the choreography to the entire cast. Must be able to be authoritative with peers without alienating them, and must be able to commit to the full rehearsal schedule. MUST ATTEND AUDITIONS!
Costume Designer- Works closely with the Director and the Dramaturge to DESIGN the costumes for the production. Must take actor’s measurements, and utilize creativity in implementing cost-effective and appropriate costumes. Must attend all production meetings and every technical rehearsal. Oversees the Wardrobe Master as well as the Milliner.
Wardrobe Master- Sees that costumes are repaired and maintained between performances. Is in charge of the organization of the costumes. Distributes costumes to the actors. Sees that costumes are properly laundered. In charge of re-stocking costumes in costume shop and maintaining the dressing rooms. Is in Charge of Costume Crew.
Milliner- Works closely with the costume designer to create and/or find all hats and headwear in the show – HATS ARE DESIGNED BY THE COSTUME DESIGNER. Must work well with the actors and others, and utilize creativity in implementing cost-effective and appropriate costumes. Must attend all production meetings and every technical rehearsal.
Master Shop Carpenter - Works closely with the Director, Technical Director and the Dramaturge to ensure the most efficient and cost effective manner in which to construct the set. Is in charge of construction. Is in charge of build crew. Must attend all production meetings, all technical meetings and every technical rehearsal.
Prop Master- Works closely with the Stage Manager and the Dramaturge to ensure that every prop is created and accounted for. Is in charge of finding and making all stage and hand properties. Is in charge of setting properties at the top of the show. Is in charge of Prop Crew. Must attend all production meetings, all technical meetings and every technical rehearsal. May need to attend other preliminary rehearsals in order to ensure a complete prop list. Make up Designer- Designs and applies (when necessary) all stage makeup for every character involved. Also designs and fixes hair and wigs. Works closely with the costume designer and the Dramaturge. Is in charge of ensuring that all actors understand make up application. Is in charge of ensuring make up is applied correctly and intensely for stage use. Must attend all technical meetings and every technical rehearsal.
Hair & Wigs Designer- Designs and styles (when necessary) all hair and wigs. Works closely with the costume designer and the Dramaturge. Is in charge of ensuring that all actors understand what their hair should look like. Must attend all technical meetings and every technical rehearsal.
Marketing Director- Is in charge of getting the word out in any and every way possible. Is in charge of creating the poster and program design. Must adhere to all contract requirements and restrictions. Works closely with the Director and Assistant Director. Writes and sends out all press releases and press packets as needed. Must attend all production meetings. Is in charge of Marketing crew.
House Manager- Is in charge of the “house”, including box office, concessions, lobby, and auditorium. Is in charge of the ushers. Is in charge of counting tickets, and logging pre-sale and door box office sales. Must attend various meetings with the Director, and must attend all technical rehearsals.
Dramaturge- Is in charge of the historical accuracy of the production. Also, will create a “glossary” for the cast and crew regarding all historical or ambiguous references. Will work closely with the Director, Technical Director, Set Coordinator, Costume Designer, Prop Master/Mistress, Make up Designer, etc. This person must have a passion for history and research. Must be organized and articulate. (This is a fairly new profession in Theatre- and would make a great college major, and is a highly desired position in theatres today.) Must attend all production meetings, technical meetings and technical rehearsals. Is in charge of Dramaturgy crew (who will be acting as your assistants.)
Scenic Charge- Head Scenic artist. A crew supervisor. Charged with the surface treatment of all scenery to the specifications set by the Scenic Designer. Is in charge of painting, and superficially “decorating” the set (i.e. Pillows, picture frames, etc., props that are not called for in the script, that will make the set more realistic and interesting.)
Lighting Designer- Will design lighting looks for the production and create cues. Will be the light board operator for the production. Must have a clear understanding of all lighting equipment, color media, and how to use colored light with pigments.
Projections Director– Will design or commission appropriate slides/animations to be projected as part of the set design and aesthetic of the overall production. Must create a detailed plan of organization, including how & where each projector will be set up and how they will each function throughout the production.
Sound Designer- Collaborates with the director and other design staff in formulation of the aural environment, including all necessary sound effects as well as the mixing of all microphones.
Master Electrician- Charged with executing the lighting design according to the specifications of the Lighting Designer. Duties include assembling and installing all equipment, focusing the lights, and maintaining the look of the production.
