WHAT IS A THESPIAN?
The International Thespian Society is the honors society for students of Theatre. Students become members by earning points and meeting the specific criteria. It is an inclusive organization meant for celebrating each student’s common love for Theatre, while developing leadership skills and mentorship, as well as sharing a passion for the hard work that goes into each Theatrical endeavor.
Lyman High School’s Troupe 2329 is a diverse group of very talented and dedicated individuals, who work hard for our productions on and off the stage, and participate in Theatre around the community. Our Troupe hosts one Theatre Social for new students at the beginning of each year, and also arranges social outings once a month. All students are invited to attend- please see the President for more information.
Troupe 2329 hosts the District 3 Thespian Festival (Districts) each year. We also participate in one volunteer service project per semester, and arranges a very special and entertaining Induction Ceremony each year, followed by the Lyman Theatre Banquet, which grows larger and more fun each passing year. Meetings are twice a month, and are student run. Our Troupe stands out in all areas, and is consistently recognized at the Thespian Competitions.
Being a Thespian means you are a voting member of the Theatre Company. The Officers of our troupe serve as the Board of Directors for the Company, and assist the Director in making crucial decisions for the good of the whole.
